Heat Pumps
Draw Heat out of Thin Air
- Ambient energy source: draw heat from the air around us. Units can work down to -30°F outdoor air temperature.
- High Supply Temperatures: ability to deliver hot water up to 140°F to meet a wide range of heating and hot water demands.
- High Coefficient of Performance: turn one unit of electric energy input into up to 4 units of thermal energy output.
- Low Global Warming Potential Refrigerant: modern R32 refrigerant is used with a GWP that is a fraction of legacy R410a or R134a refrigerants.
- Modern Design: uses variable speed inverter-driven compressors and fans to achieve optimal performance under various operating conditions. Systems run near silent.
- Control Module: avoid peak rate periods and lower demand charges.
- Two Standard Models: Units are available in 15 and 22kW thermal capacities to meet any application. Multiple units can be installed in parallel for higher output
- Rapid Return: Powerful source of thermal energy and attractive cost.
Configuration Guide
- Thermal Tank 350 gallon with a mid-size Heat Pump will provide 1,000 – 1,400 gallons of hot water, at 140°F
- Thermal Tank 500 gallon with a mid-size Heat Pump will provide 1,300 – 2,000 gallons of hot water, at 140°F
- Thermal Tank 700 gallon with a mid-size Heat Pump will provide 2,000 – 2,800 gallons of hot water, at 140°F
Applications
- Air Source heat pumps draw ambient energy from outdoor or indoor spaces and send the energy to the Thermal Tank. As they extract the energy, they provide cool air in exchange, which can be utilized for space cooling.
- Heat Pumps can be the sole/primary thermal energy source or can function as a back-up to other sources. They create the opportunity to respond quickly to increased demand for hot water and recharge the Thermal Tank with thermal energy.
- They can principally operate 24 hours. Smart controls ensure operation during low rate intervals and during off-peak demand windows.
